Lessons Learned and Strategies for Enhancing Disaster Response
When disasters strike (particularly unanticipated ones), local communities and governments are faced with a litany of competing priorities, such as addressing the immediate removal of danger, correcting critical utility issues, and managing the high demand of public services that are often in low supply. In this article, we discuss disaster recovery in Puerto Rico from 2017 to the present and the factors that play key roles in the recovery process.
